CHRISTINE E. SAVAGE leads King & Spalding’s practice in export controls and sanctions law and in national security reviews of U.S. investment before the Committee on Foreign Investment in the U.S. (“CFIUS”). Christine has over 20 years of experience in international trade regulations and compliance, having served as an attorney at the Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration during the Clinton Administration. Christine routinely assists clients in industries such as aerospace/defense, semiconductor, energy, telecommunications and media, biotechnology, and financial services, in conducting internal investigations of companies’ compliance systems and responding to enforcement actions before the Bureau of Industry and Security, the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, the Office of Foreign Assets Control, and the Department of Justice. She also helps clients assess the impact of foreign participation in M&A and investment transactions involving U.S. technology and assets, including assessing CFIUS risk and participating in CFIUS proceedings.
